What Prio1 Foundation is
Prio1 Foundation exists to study how advanced AI systems reshape decision making, institutions, and power structures. The focus is on quiet and incremental failure modes such as dependency, decision framing capture, and declining removability.
Prio1 Foundation also addresses a second horizon that many programs avoid stating plainly: what happens if advanced, agentic systems combined with automation and robotics reduce the practical need for humans in critical functions. In that world, humans can become a liability rather than a benefit. Prio1 Foundation studies how to reduce the incentive to remove humans and how to preserve viable living conditions and meaningful human agency.
This is approached as a set of mechanisms and risk models. It is not treated as prophecy.

How Prio1 Foundation works
Prio1 Foundation is built around methods and transparency. The goal is to publish material that makes reasoning checkable.
In practice, this means:
Scope, assumptions, and uncertainty are stated explicitly
Structured material is published under defined methods
Comparative setups are used when possible so outputs can be evaluated across systems
Publications are versioned and updated when new information changes the analysis
Operational instructions for wrongdoing are not published
Read mode: Publications
Who this is for
Prio1 Foundation is designed for readers and participants who value clarity and restraint:
journalists and editors working on AI and societal risk
policymakers and institutional decision makers
researchers and technical experts
long term funders and donors
a technically literate public that wants serious, non sensational framing
Status and structure
Prio1 Foundation is planned and not yet formally registered.
Until formal registration, operations and payments are handled by Prio1 Ltd (Prio1 Oy, Finland) to publish materials, run public formats, and fund the establishment of the foundation and its research.
